I Miss The Christmas Season Already. . .

I really do miss the Christmas season already. I miss the endless Christmas movies and music. I miss business of Christmas. Which my mother says what got me sick this week. I didn't know any one could feel so miserable in their life from being sick between the stomach ache, bright lights, dizziness, and being sick to my stomach. . .   I am skipping work today and am sick in bed. Since I can't play with all my new stuff or show it off by wearing it in public. I thought I would brag about it on my blog :) Bear with me, I am just a sick girl in bed, sad over the Christmas season.

So I think the thing I am most excited about are my movies. I asked for the first toy story and my grandma got me all three. I am so excited and can't wait to watch them. hehe. I will probably end up watching at least one of them with my preschooler's this week :)

My mom and sister got me Columbia jacket in pink of course because that is my favorite color. And both my grandma's got me scarves with shades of pink in them. So I will look very fashionable when I wear my new jacket and scarves out.

I also got two books for Christmas. "Wonderland Creek" by Lynn Austin and "Sherlockian" by Graham Moore. I am so excited to read these books. Lynn Austin is my favorite author and I love any book or movie about Sherlock Holmes.

My cousin made this for me off of Pinterest, isn't it so cute?!

These are only a few of  the awesome things I got like lace up boots, tights, fuzzy slippers, giant Tangled coloring book. . . the list is very long so I wont bored you with all of them. But I hope you guys had a great Christmas and got everything you were wishing for.

Christmas Love!

A few days ago, my facebook status was " I absolutely love Christmas." And I do. I love the music, the cheesy movies, the reindeer crafts, baking cookies. . .

. . . the parties with friends, the ice skating, getting a real christmas tree and decorating it with family.

I also love Christmas presents and of course I love the best Christmas gift of all. Christ Birth. This morning in church the pastor said he only ask one thing each year for the children's Christmas program. That it be about Jesus' birth and not some modern thing. Which I agree with him. Because that is what Christmas is all about.

I brought in the veggie tales' Christmas movie "The toy that saved Christmas" the other day in to my preschoolers for them to watch. And when it was all over the only thing my kids said was "Why wasn't Santa in it?" Is that what kids really think Christmas is all about?! Its depressing to think they do.

On a happy note I hope you guys all have a wonderful Christmas season and listen to plenty of Christmas music :)

Matching Hats From Nepal

Dear Fellow Blog Readers

My friend, Andrea, recently went on a two week mission trip to Nepal. And she is very good about getting everyone back home gifts when she is away. Last year when she went to Nepal she brought me back a wallet and a scarf but this year she brought us matching sock monkey hats! (It's alright to be jealous.)

Shortly after Andrea gave me this awesome gift, she asked me if the sock money's would make it to the blog. So I am now granting Andrea's wish. It's official. The sock monkey's have made to the blog :)

Sincerely, Sweet Pea

Tuesday Tunes . . .Fly Away

I will admit I stole the idea of Tuesday Tunes from another blog. I thought it was such a cute idea that I should do it too. And because I have been lacking in blog post recently. (And that's mostly because I don't really have a life but that is a different story for a different day.)

So for the past two days I have been thinking about which song I should put up for my Tuesday Tunes. And I had a lot of song choices considering I spend most of the day listening to the radio at work but I was having a lot of trouble deciding. Then today I asked my preschool class to sing me a song and Evan (my favorite country star of our little preschool class) starts singing me this song. . .

You can probably imagine how precious the moment was. And the best part is this isn't the first time he has sang a country song to me. But I thought this was a prefect song with a perfect story to start off my Tuesday Tunes :)

Carving Pumpkins

Between the trying to sleep and trying to get naps this weekend I somehow found time to spend time with family, carve pumpkins with my sister, and babysit some of the world's cutest kids. And they all survived a weekend through my grumpiness and thank goodness I caught up on my sleep Sunday night right before work on Monday.

Minnie Mouse and Mickey

Aren't our pumpkins somewhat cute? Sadly you can't see Minnie's bow in the dark but believe me it looked pretty cool. Hope you all had a great weekend too.

Footloose and Feathers

This picture sums up my weekend. A bit drowsy but fashionable cute :) hehe.  It started by staying up and watching the old "Footloose" with my sister Friday night in preparation to see the new one. Follow by an early morning workout with Andrea. And a crazy over dramatic morning at work like usual.

Shirt: Kohl's; Belt: Thrifted; Cardigan: Kohl's;  Side  Purse: Maurice's; Pants: Kohl's; Loafers: JCPenny's

But the day got a lot better when Jess and I went and got a feathers. For only six dollars. Yaya! And spent the night with friends from high school. Followed by church Sunday morning were I had a hard time staying a wake during church. Then lunch with Jess at Panera, yummy!

Then followed by a much needed afternoon nap. And ending my weekend having dinner with Rachel and Andrea.  Hope you all had a good weekend too. :)

Friday Fancies. . . Fall Festive

Well I have to admit I thought my outfit last weekend was pretty fall festive. With its fall colors and cute accessories, I was proud of myself. I was so proud that I thought I could think of another cute fall outfit for Friday Fancies :)

It would most definitely consist of a round scarf, I am so happy they are still in this year.

I love long sleeves and green. I am actually wearing a long sleeve green shirt as I write this blog post. What are the chances. hehe.

Cardigans are always a must!

Skinny jeans are the choice of jeans.

Loafers. They're cute in there our way. And they complete a fall outfit so well :)

p.s. I am getting a feather extension tomorrow. Crazy excited about it!

You guys have probably been wondering where I have been the last couple of weeks or you may have not . . .  But I have been super busy, working 40 plus hours, visiting friends at college, and house sitting. A Beautiful Fall Wedding

I went to my cousin's wedding on Saturday. It was cold but beautiful. And I somehow seem to gotten a slight sun burn on my face in 50* weather, yes I am still wondering how I got it?!

She got married at Stan Hywet Gardens so the setting was absolutely gorgeous.  And my cousin was the most beautiful part of the wedding of course :)

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Reba In Concert!

A couple of Sunday's ago, Andrea, Rachel, and I headed to a local fair to see Reba in concert. Reba is like my idol, a woman who can make a career for over 30 years out of something she loves to do. Is amazing! And it was one of the best concerts I have ever been too. Reba is truly amazing. And she looks good for her age :)

Rachel and I have also went to a Steel Magnolia concert this past week even though they are great singers their concert didn't even come to comparison to Reba's. She is just that awesome.

Cute And Comfortable

The other day I brought a new pair of running shoes. They are everything I was looking for: cute and comfortable. I am currently training for the Akron Marathon Relay and I am running the nine mile leg. Eeee! I am a bit nervous about it.

I have been working hard to get my mileage in and that's why I needed my new pair of running shoes because I had my old ones so long that I was getting blisters all over my feet. But now that I have my new cute running shoes. I shouldn't have any more problems running :)

Never Forget 9/11

I don't remember much about this day but it's a day none of us will ever forget.

A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.
America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.
Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America — with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.
President George W. Bush (September 11, 2001)

Books I Have Read

Well the little three week break from blogging also definitely gave me some time to catch up on my reading and during that time I have read or am currently reading three really good books. The Help, Sarah's Key, and The Art Of Racing In The Rain.

The Help

The Help is a 2009 novel by American author Kathryn Stockett. The story is about African American maids working in white households in Jackson, Mississippi during the early 1960s. The novel is told from the point of view of three narrators: Aibileen Clark, a middle-aged African-American maid who has spent her life raising white children, and who has recently lost her only son; Minny Jackson, an African-American maid whose back-talk towards her employers results in her having to frequently change jobs, exacerbating her desperate need for work as well as her family's struggle with money; and Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, a young white woman and recent college graduate who, after moving back home, discovers that a maid that helped raise her since childhood has abruptly disappeared and her attempts to find her have been unsuccessful. This book was as good as the movie. It was so touching, sad, and funny. Everyone should read this book.

Sarah's Key

De Rosnay's U.S. debut fictionalizes the 1942 Paris roundups and deportations, in which thousands of Jewish families were arrested, held at the Vélodrome d'Hiver outside the city, then transported to Auschwitz. Forty-five-year-old Julia Jarmond, American by birth, moved to Paris when she was 20 and is married to the arrogant, unfaithful Bertrand Tézac, with whom she has an 11-year-old daughter. Julia writes for an American magazine and her editor assigns her to cover the 60th anniversary of the Vél' d'Hiv' roundups. Julia soon learns that the apartment she and Bertrand plan to move into was acquired by Bertrand's family when its Jewish occupants were dispossessed and deported 60 years before. She resolves to find out what happened to the former occupants: Wladyslaw and Rywka Starzynski, parents of 10-year-old Sarah and four-year-old Michel. The more Julia discovers—especially about Sarah, the only member of the Starzynski family to survive—the more she uncovers about Bertrand's family, about France and, finally, herself. This book was so sad, I don't think I will be able to watch the movie but it definitely made me want to know more about France during World War II.

The Art Of Racing In The Rain

If you've ever wondered what your dog is thinking, Stein's third novel offers an answer. Enzo is a lab terrier mix plucked from a farm outside Seattle to ride shotgun with race car driver Denny Swift as he pursues success on the track and off. Denny meets and marries Eve, has a daughter, Zoë, and risks his savings and his life to make it on the professional racing circuit. Enzo, frustrated by his inability to speak and his lack of opposable thumbs, watches Denny's old racing videos, coins koanlike aphorisms that apply to both driving and life, and hopes for the day when his life as a dog will be over and he can be reborn a man. When Denny hits an extended rough patch, Enzo remains his most steadfast if silent supporter. Enzo is a reliable companion and a likable enough narrator, though the string of Denny's bad luck stories strains believability. Much like Denny, however, Stein is able to salvage some dignity from the over-the-top drama. I have just started reading this book and it's surprisely hilarious. Has more foul language then I usually like in the books I read but the story is good.

I hope these summaries and reviews have interested you guys in the books and maybe you will want to read them now too:) Information has come from amazon.com

Why The New Blog?

Dress: Kohl's; Sandals: Marshall's

I am back! But as you can see with a new blog. My last blog expired and every time I tried to get on it. They said I had to start a new one. At first I was mad thinking about all the time I put into the blog for it to expire.

Another reason I was originally delaying creating this blog was I am busy with work. I am blessed that I was given more hours and my boss trust me enough to give me more responsibility but the YMCA sucks at giving raises so I am still making the same amount even though I am doing more work and working more hours.

But then after all that, I put on my big girl pants and decided to start this new blog and to call it Sweet Pea's Place . . . So I can talk about everything happening in my life. From friends to work to fashion. I hope you like this blog as much if not more then the other one :)
