Spain!

While on vacation we had a few rainy days so we decided to go a little farther south and head to Spain.  I was super excited to get to see Spain and add another country to my list.

We ended up eating lunch in a little local restaurant in the town, Cadaques,Catalonia. I tried to go with something original for Spain and chose a Spanish omelet which was rather yummy and went well with my tiny strong European coffee.

We finished off our trip to Spain by driving up into the Pyrenees Mountains checking out a local lighthouse.

It was an amazing view and getting the opportunity to stand on the Pyrenees mountains looking over the Mediterranean sea was an amazing opportunity. I am truly blessed!

Le Cap d'Agde

There are many things people should know before traveling in France. When driving/riding in a car remember there really aren't that many restroom stops along the road so don't be drinking too much before hand. While traveling you will have more of a chance to find a bakery that sell sandwiches rather then a fast food place. And thirdly I don't think there is such a thing as non-nude beaches..

The kids loved playing on the beach but we could never be on the beach very long till usually an old lady would be dropping her top. So we never spent much time on the beach.

The french do pizza a little different in the south.. Adding an egg to the middle of the pizza.yum.

We got to go on a boat ride and take a closer look at the old prison on the shore.

We got to do some shopping downtown.

And take a visit to Spain... I will post those pictures later. So you all will have something to look forward too ;)

I am Back!

Back to the blogger world and back to France. My time in France has been great so far. I truly am home away from home. My living situation is a bit different this time. Living with the Stoner's, the constant flow of kids is always going through my bedroom but I am fine with that. Not much has changed in France the last three months. Trying to find a place open to satisfy my craving for ice cream at 7:30 at night is still impossible. And their regular vacations haven't stopped I am happy to say. Which I came just in time for...Lucky for me the Stoner's made a trip to the south of France this past week to spend some time on the beach.

On our way to the beach we stopped in Nimes, France which is an ancient Roman city. While there we ate some Kebabs, saw a couple of churches, and visit a Roman Colosseum. It was a great way to start our vacation.

Eglise ste. Perpetue et ste. Felicite

After our short afternoon in Nimes, we made it to the apartment by the beach in time to watch the sunset.

Vacationing with the Stoner's was a blessing. Not only did I get to spend time with my family back in the states by the beach right before I left for France but I got to spend sometime with my other family by the beach in France. Truly a blessing!

I come to say Hello...

Six weeks... I have been in the U.S. And no motivation to blog. My so called exciting life in France came to a halt and I had to come back home where I had to return to my old job and get another just to keep myself sane and make enough money so I can pay my last school payment.

But through all that I am finally doing better. It might be because I know the time for me to return to France is coming up quickly and I will be back to traveling the world and taking care of my adorable little boys. It's also easier because of all the support I have from family and friends. There is never a moment when my week isn't filled with few giggles from several different kids. On top of the nanny job I have I am picking up babysitting jobs almost every weekend. Keeping my heart full with laughter of kids and helping me get the extra money I need.

They say you experience reverse culture shock when you make it back to your home. And in some ways I think I have... having no cell phone or car. I might as well be telling people I am Amish. And going to Wal-mart is such a pain in the butt. Even our biggest store in Albertville didn't even compare to the headache I get every time I go into Wal-mart.  Save-A-Lot is looking more and more normal to me these days.

In conclusion, that's my life in a nut-shell since I have gotta back :)

Happy Holidays

Whoa! I don't know about you guys but I have been crazy busy... Christmas, Christmas, Christmas. Paris.

If you haven't heard, I finally did caught that flu bug. It was a nasty little thing, It stuck with me for a whole week. But I finally got to venture out with Rachael after the sickness to go to Lyon to pick up her step-sister, Christina, from the airport.

While in Lyon, we got to stop at Starbucks. Yay! First Starbucks stop since we got here!

Christmas day was extra special, Rachel and I went to the Stoner's for breakfast and to open Christmas presents of course. I was spoiled with so many nice things this year from the people back home and people who are here! I also got to skype with my family and call everyone!

The day after Christmas we headed to Annecy to show Christina one of the beautiful towns here in the French Alps. It was also my first time going to Annecy, myself. And it was beautiful!

Then we made a last minute decision to go to Paris, do to the fact that we couldn't all fit in our car. I hopped a ride with our dear missionary friend, Jodi, to help her move to Paris. The timing couldn't have been more perfect for the two of us.

So after I helped Jodi move into her new place. The Stoner's, Christina, and I ventured out into Paris, to Notre Dame, Versailles, Eiffel Tower and so many more places...

After all this business, I skipped New Year's eve to spend the evening in my warm welcoming bed. But sadly, the bug or something similar to it, caught up with me again. Feeling much better now but taking it way easier so I can finally get rid of this sickness at last...

So happy New Year! God Bless you in 2013!

Fête des lumières

So last weekend Rachel and I headed to Lyon to see the "festival of lights". We woke up bright and early last Saturday to 14inches of snow but we headed to the train station anyway hoping to caught the 7:20 train out of Albertville but unfortunately the early train was cancelled. So we just headed over to the cafe to wait for the next train..

And naturally the second train was cancelled too. Apparently this is the most snow Albertville has got over night in over 25years or something. No wonder the first two trains were cancelled but lucky us the 12 o'clock train to Lyon was still going.

Our wait for the third train was totally worth it. We ate at a McDonald's, found a starbucks, went shopping, and saw the biggest light festival of the french alps!

It was a great start for the french alp Christmas season!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday, mom!

Happy Birthday, mom! I love you!

p.s. Don't worry. I am taking my vitamins and staying hydrated. I should be over this cold in no time. ... Just spending all my extra time calling you at random hours of the night, while trying to calm down four hyper active kids, and spending my other extra time taking naps and watching boy meets world on youtube...don't worry about me :) hehe. I love you!
