Just when I think I am getting use to France and thinking this country might not be as crazy as I thought it was. They seem to prove me wrong.
Yesterday was my turn to clean so I spend the majority of my Saturday morning cleaning the dorm bathrooms and tidying up my room. So by the time Rachel and I decided to head into to town to get some stamps from the post office and maybe check out the library and the mountain events down town it was two o'clock. ...And of course for living in France for a month now. We should have know that the post office closed at noon on Saturdays and of course the library wasn't going to be open because of the mountain events downtown....Why would we ever think that anything might be open downtown on a Saturday afternoon?!
After checking out only a couple of tents of the mountain event, we quickly lost interest due to the fact we couldn't understand much cause it was all in french. We decided to head to the grocery which seemed to be a decent idea... you know, buying groceries so we can eat. On our way to the grocery store we decided to stop into Subway to check it out and conpare it to our Subway's back home. So as we stepped the 'Subway' I quickly realized it was actually the Pub right next to Subway they share in entrance. haha. It was a good laugh on Rachel and I as we quickly left with three old men giving us stare looks for us to return around and try the real Subway door to realize Subway wasn't open. Again of course, Why would subway be open at 2:45 in the afternoon?!?
So we headed to the grocery and were having a jolly of a time laughing at ourselves for walking into the Pub until the women at the check out tried to trick Rachel out of 10 euros (which is almost 13 dollars). After Rachel argued with the checkout lady and caused a little scene. The women very unwillingly agreed she would count out the money in money box. After waiting for a good 20 mins, Rachel finally got her 10 euros back. After that we were pretty exhausted and quickly walked back to the school to change into our pj's and watch chick flicks the rest of the night. ..
